What is a patent?

A patent is an intellectual property right on an invention and includes the right to prevent any third parties from producing your invention, or offering or using it.

Do I need a patent?

AS the inventor, you do not need a patent for marketing your invention, such as producing or selling it. However you need a patent or a utility model for preventing others to copy your invention

What do I need to receive a patent?

For receiving a patent your invention must be disclosed such that a person can reproduce it. By this disclosure you support the technolgical progress and in exchange you receive the exclusive right to use and benefit from your invention for a certain time range.

What is the duration of a patent?

The duration of protection of a patent is 20 years.
